Maggie is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist specializing in Parent Consultation and play-based intervention for children.   When working with parents, Maggie utilizes parent-based interventions to effectively address various childhood emotional and/or behavioral concerns.  She is trained in SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions; Yale Child Studies Center), an evidence-based parent-based treatment program for parents of children with anxiety and/or OCD.  Maggie also provides time-limited parent consultations for parents seeking clarity regarding their child’s treatment needs; utilizing our group’s collective resources, specialties, and provider network, Maggie provides initial treatment recommendations and related referrals to trusted providers both within and outside of our practice.

Experienced in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, and the highly sensitive trait, Maggie also works with adolescents and young adults using traditional talk therapy.   She approaches her clients holistically, holding in mind the whole person and providing a warm, caring and safe environment.

Maggie earned her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Southern Methodist University, where she trained in Play Therapy, Filial Therapy, Activity Therapy, and Group Counseling.  Her training and career have afforded her the opportunity to collaborate closely with psychiatrists, pediatricians, evaluators, and school administrators.  Now residing in North Carolina, she provides virtual services for parents, teens, and pre-teens whose concerns and goals are well-suited to telehealth.
